This issue of the journal opens the section “Cyber-physical systems”, the prominent element of which is neural networks. According to Microsoft, neural networks use hardware and software to mimic the web of neurons in the human brain. This idea dates back to the 80s, but in 2012 Krizhevsky and Hinton improved its implementation by building a network that uses the resources of graphics processors (video cards). The world's leading IT companies today build their image recognition systems on these processors, which are used for a variety of tasks: from searching for images on the Internet to ensuring security.

Regular articles in the “Photonics” section present the work of employees of the Ufa University of Science and Technology. The articles are devoted to current technologies at the current stage of development of photonics and will be of interest to a wide class of readers.

The new section of the magazine “Discussion Club” presents articles by Prof. Sultanova A.Kh. and Assoc. Timofeeva A.L. "Optical Radio" and prof. KNITU-KAI Nigmatullina R.R. "A method for creating an additional communication channel based on temporary Morse code." We are waiting for your opinions.
