Dear authors and readers!
This year, the editorial board is busy solving an important task – including the journal in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission. We are eagerly awaiting the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission and assigning the journal its first category. What it will be largely depended on you - our authors, on the content, scientific significance and quality of your articles.
The portfolio of the Photonics section of this issue contains three articles devoted to solving problems of radio photonics, namely, measuring the instantaneous frequency of a set of unknown microwave signals and the angle of their arrival at the recording photon radar. The authors of the articles are a postgraduate student of the Department of Radio Photonics and Microwave Technologies of KNITU-KAI Maltsev A.V. and Deputy Head of the Department of Modern Instrumentation, Associate Professor Denisenko E.P. Another article devoted to the subtle issues of optical reflectometry in the frequency domain and mathematical methods of processing the obtained results in order to improve their metrological reliability was received from the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Perm) from the authors - M.E. Belokrylov, Yu.A. Konstantinov.
In the portfolio of the "Discussion Club" section, there is an article by the master of KNITU-KAI, Professor Ravil Rashidovich Nigmatullin "Is it possible to construct regular polygons with odd sides using a compass and a ruler without divisions?", in which the author finds not only sophisticated mathematical solutions, but also suggests their application in the field of practical problems of electronics and photonics.
By the end of the month, we are waiting for a package of articles in the "Cyber-Physical Systems" section from our colleagues, who are apparently developing the most relevant technologies of today - information technologies, in order to complete the formation of the issue.
